Since 1875, four generations of the Raffin family have managed the company Henri RAFFIN.
It all started back in 1875 with Marius RAFFIN, who was a butcher and owned a butcher’s and delicatessen shop.
It was Henri RAFFIN who started up a wholesale meat business in Grenoble with a company called « La Cheville Dauphinoise » in 1937.
The first pork-cutting workshop and delicatessen wholesale business was created in 1938 in La Rochette in the Savoy region. After the war, in 1952, Henri RAFFIN extended his premises to include an abattoir. The company’s success meant he could extend his factory area with an extra 4000 m² of space.
In 1978, Alfred RAFFIN, Henri RAFFIN’s son, took over the management of the factory following his father’s death and continued to develop the business. Georges RAFFIN, who has a degree from ENILV (French National School for the Dairy and Meat Industries), has been managing director of the company since 1993 and has undertaken to develop the scope of the company Henri RAFFIN Salaisons.
In 1997, a new ultra-modern 4000 m² factory was inaugurated in La Rochette, marking the beginning of a new phase of significant regional development which was subsequently extended to national level. During 2006-2007, the company continued its expansion with another extra 2000 m² of factory space, exported its products to new countries and new markets… and celebrated its 70 years of existence in October 2007.
